JornadasDAR was an event that brought together collectives and social movements to discuss issues related to artificial intelligence and generate shared knowledge and proposals for action. The conference took place in both Barcelona and Madrid, and the goal was to attract activists who were interested in discussing a more democratic, decolonial, and human rights-respecting approach to artificial intelligence. As the art director for the conference, I was responsible for creating a graphic identity and developing all of the materials, including the web design. According to social media comments, the quality of the speakers at the conference was a key factor in its success, but the communication and design were also praised.
Project definition
A conference as a meeting point and to support connections to strengthen and enhance collective action on the future of rights, social justice and its confluence with the digital world. It is aimed at activists, organisations and social movements. It will take place online on the 26th, in Barcelona on the 27th and will close in Madrid on the 28th of May 2022.

Development
Working in a decentralised way, in different time zones and in a multidisciplinary team was the context in which the communication of this project was developed. In order to integrate the different areas, the visual development was concentrated on one platform (figma) for easy access. In this way an independent but interrelated development of the team could be facilitated in a better way. For example, the creation of the copy on the templates allowed an organic development of the pieces in coordination between the graphic designer and the community manager, as well as the translations (Spanish, English and Catalan) of the pieces to feed the different channels. And finally, perhaps the most complex piece, the coordination with the web development team, led by digitalfems, also had this platform as a common space.
